Same Game, New Name! Introducing: Your Class Rep The Card Game! (And some other changes too)

Your Class Rep: Art and Design Updates

The project has taken a big step forward lately, especially on the visual side. The old version of Middle School Class Rep wasn't inviting or inspiring and felt a little bland, it didn’t quite match the tone or identity I wanted for the game. So I made this!

What do you think? Here are my thoughts on this change and a few others...

The new logo matches the rest of the game’s direction — and easy to read, but full of personality. I wanted it to look like something straight out of a notebook margin or a old Gameboy start up screen.

New Art Direction

The new style gives the characters more expression and energy than before. the two characters below were the biggest offenders of what I call the bad silhouette problem. You couldn't really ready what the character's were doing by looking at the silhouette. I make make some additional changes to these and other characters before we hit go on the publish button, hey maybe even after I hit go!

New
Old

I've redesigned Naomi to better align with the countless sketches in various notebooks. Hopefully this pose makes you think direct and to the point. A stickler for rules, but still has a heart of gold.

New
And Mr. Gruff old silhouette was very hard to read. I have to give some credit to a fellow artist, Mr. Robinson Pixels for finding a very fun silhouette for me to build from.

New
I've also upgraded the card backs! WAY better right?

There changes tie into how I want Your Class Rep to feel; nostalgic and inviting.

I'll likely touch up some of the other characters as well.

Your feedback!

But I'd love your feedback on the ability text. I think getting rid of a lot of the excessive symbols and replacing them with simple easy to read text will be to the games benefit.

More updates soon.
