Set 2A for Middle School Class Rep is almost finished and ready for early testing. This expansion builds around a music theme, adding new groups like the Band Kids, Hip-Hop Kids, Music Teachers, and more. The idea was to explore characters connected to performance and rhythm—whether musically gifted students, or teachers rooting them on.
One of my favorite parts of the game is deckbuilding, so I’m especially excited to see how these new cards shape player strategies. This set leans more heavily on staff cards, introducing several ways to challenge decks built around high-Influence plays. Vote values are also more heavily concentrated on lower-Influence cards, encouraging a different style of planning and play.
Breakdown of New Cards in Set 2
Room 2A’s Class Reps
Low Influence — If they lose a battle, the opposing card is also flipped face down. The Punk Kids
Low Influence — Can defeat cards with exactly 5 Influence.
The Band Kids
High Vote values — No special abilities.
Hip-Hop Kids
High Influence — In any battle they're part of, the card with the lowest Influence wins.
Lunch Staff
Very low Votes — Wins battles if the opponent has any Votes.
Music Teachers
High Influence — Automatically lose to any Special card.
Math Teachers
If any Special card survives the round, they subtract 1 Vote from your total during scoring.
A print-and-play version of Set 2 will be available soon. There are still a few balance and readability tweaks to make, but the core mechanics are set. If you get a chance to try it, I’d love to hear your feedback—especially how these cards interact with Set 1 and affect your deck choices.
Thanks for reading,
—James
